Unite the Veilguard and defy the gods in Dragon Age: The Veilguard, an immersive single player RPG where you become the leader others believe in.
Start NowDragon Age: The Veilguard is an action role-playing video game developed by BioWare and published by Electronic Arts. As the fourth major installment in the Dragon Age series, The Veilguard serves as the sequel to Dragon Age: Inquisition (2014). Set ten years after the events of Inquisition, the game introduces new locations in the fictional world of Thedas for players to explore.
Select from different races and combat classes, customize your appearance, choose your character’s backstory and begin your journey as Rook, Dragon Age’s newest hero.
Select from three classes (Warrior, Mage, and Rogue), each with two distinct weapon types and unique abilities you can select between mid-combat. Experience new strategic depth as you combine fast-paced attacks, parries, and dodges with the companion ability wheel to exploit enemy weaknesses and seize victory with devastating combat combos.
Level up your Rook and companions with their own skill trees. Choose perks and combat abilities as you climb towards more powerful specializations.
Warriors command the flow of the battlefield. Some lay waste with sword and shield, while others use a two handed weapon to send enemies flying.
Mages rain down fury with spells that incinerate, freeze, electrocute and crush. Some cast from afar, while others prefer close quarters combat.
The rogue’s hallmarks are quick movement and reflexes. Whether wielding a bow or dual swords, they use powerful, precise strikes for lethal damage
"In isolation, this game is a very good action RPG - one of the best on the market - so if that's what you're looking for Veilguard is worth your time."
"Runs very well (surprising for an EA release, I know), graphics are great on ultra at 1440p. Gameplay is quite fun and I find it challenging on the harder difficulty (unforgiving?). Mage class is definitely a lot easier than rogue in case anyone cares. Coming from an isometric fan, I much prefer this to the odd blend we have had of genres in the previous two entries. The RPG system of levelling up lets you unlock new combo skills, so it has more depth to it than Inquisition did with its limited skills and passives."
"As a fan of the franchise and someone who was extremely excited for this game's release, I hate to admit that I would never, ever recommend this entry to anyone who has ever played one of these games before. It might be fine for someone who doesn't care much for the lore or is just looking for something to waste time- but if you want an rpg to get lost in and feel like you could become a part of the world or that your character and their choices are making a real difference on the world around you- this is not the game for you."
"I like it more then I thought I would actually. It's hard to shut out all negative stuff. It's hard to have faith in EA/Bioware after last couple of years. But it's actually much better then I anticipated. Story seems okish so far. Some writing / dialouge is kinda' bad but it's not horrible and some of it is good. I am curious about where the story goes and what choices I will have to make. There's already been quite a few after only 5 hours."
"Insanely well optimized, getting constant 120 frames on high settings on 3070 laptop on 1440. Rogue arrow shooting is great with auto attacks/aim attacks with press/hold feels great. Endless accessibility options. Can pause during cut-scenes."
"As a general action RPG game I'd give this an 8/10. However as a Dragon Age game it's a 6/10. I am as a whole enjoying it, especially the scenes with Solas, it has amazing visuals, it runs very smoothly with no major bugs encountered, I am enjoying the combat and I haven't taken a disliking to any of the companions. It just feels like it's missing some of that Dragon Age DNA. It is still a fun and enjoyable game, but it could've been more."
